Meet Toby 🐾❤️

Toby is a sweet 9-year-old boy who is looking for a new family to love after an unexpected change in circumstances brought him to the shelter.

Toby was surrendered to the shelter alongside his mom, Navy. He had been with the same family since the day he was born, so leaving the only home he had ever known was understandably a big change for him. His family was faced with circumstances that required them to leave the country and, sadly, they were unable to take Toby and Navy with them. While it was a heartbreaking decision, they wanted to make sure their beloved dogs had the chance to find loving homes where they would be cared for.

Toby is in great health, is up to date on his vaccines, neutered, housebroken, and has received his ProHeart injection for the year. At around 20 pounds, he is a manageable size and would make a wonderful companion.

He does well with both dogs and cats, making him an easy addition to many different households. Toby and Navy have spent their entire lives together, and while we initially thought they were very bonded, we've come to realize that they appear to be comfortable being separated. This means Toby can be considered for a home of his own.

Toby would do best in a home with older children who can understand that he is an older gentleman and appreciate his need for a little patience and respect.

Toby will also need regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and comfortable.

After spending nine years with the same family, Toby deserves a family who will make sure his next chapter is his forever chapter. He has already experienced the heartbreak of losing the home he knew — now we're hoping to find him the loving family he can grow old with. ❤️
